AUTOMOTIVE

AUTOMOTIVE is a documentary about human work and its value in the digital age, highlighting the current situation and discussing future developments through the experiences of our protagonists.

Sedanur Koca (20) is proud to be a temp worker at AUDI. But the company lets her go her during “Diesel-gate”. Without a job she has to move back in with her very traditional Turkish family. But Seda is street-smart and a fighter although her job is constantly at risk due to the progressive automation. She is working hard for a permanent position at Audi so that one day she will be able to drive her own German car.
On the other end of the scale, headhunter Eva Heppel (33) is looking for experts and top-management candidates for the automotive industry. A world of 6 to 7 figure salaries with all the benefits. Sedas struggles for 1,500€ a month. Currently Eva is looking for developers who can enhance the supply chain through further automation, thus ultimately making Sedas job obsolete.
Eva herself is struggling for self-determination in a highly competitive and hierarchic field of work. She moved to Amsterdam to live with her girlfriend, but tries to keep her private life secret from her boss, customers and colleagues, because she is afraid her reputation might suffer. With Jadie (27) she just bought a lot on the tropical island of Curacao to move there and have a familiy at age 45. She will be a digital nomad, sitting on the beach with her laptop and only working whenever she wants to.
