We wish to help our alumni cope with the world outside by equipping them with some tools to pay their rent while they prepare their longer projects – writing their fingers to the bone or chasing financing, or, you name it...
Of course, as in the past, there will be those students who discover so much fun in advertising, they will simply very successfully continue.
Our main aim, though, is to help HFF students – through the process of developing and realizing advertising films – to get to the substance of their thoughts, to dissect their ideas and check them for strong and weak points, etc... These are all exercises that can greatly benefit their larger projects. Advertising films are an ideal microcosm of the fiction-film business, and thus a major boon to the training of filmmakers.
