Philip and Alexey have been a couple for twelve years. They live together with Philip’s parents in a flat in St. Petersburg. The two spend most of their time in their small cosmos consisting of the children’s theatre, their home and gay clubs – as the world outside their protected space has difficulties with regard to homosexuality. Since 2013, the Russian government also has demonstrated through new laws, which ban propaganda for homosexuality in front of minors, that it shares the often negative attitude of society towards gays. Against this background stands the portrait of this young couple. It shows their fears, insecurities and problems with self-acceptance – but more importantly also their happiness together.
