Ways and Means
On her last day in her hometown, the quiet soccer player Luka (15) meets troublemaker Janine (17) - who has to put things right with Luka. Suddenly, the two girls have to rely on each other. While getting to know one another, both of them discover common ground despite their differences. Quiet Luka (15) is about to take the biggest step of her life. The talented soccer player will move into a sports boarding school for professional soccer players. Only one step away from her new life, Luka suddenly has to pay for somebody else’s mistake when she runs into a violent teenage gang from her neighborhood. Humiliated, beat-up with a sore ankle, Luka is locked up in a basement when suddenly Janine (17) – bimbo chick and member of the teenage gang – comes back to free Luka. Of all people, it is Janine who insists on helping Luka because suddenly she is worried – not only about Luka, but also her own future. So the girls make a deal. Janine helps Luka and in return, Luka won’t rat her out to the cops. On their way to the hospital, the two girls cross the unreal setting of their neighborhood - concrete tower blocks and emptiness. Again and again, they encounter obstacles they have to overcome together. They start getting closer to each other, then push each other away, only to suddenly discover common ground to share secrets no one else knows about.
