Our Wildest Dreams
Torn between society‘s expectations and their love of freedom, Foots
and Torjus are on a quest for themselves in America’s asphalt jungle and
in the deep woods of Norway - until their longing for their kids catches
up with them.
Foots and Torjus are united by their common attitude to life. They
recognize their desire to be on the road as an existential human need.
They feel out of place when there’s too much comfort and excess. At
once underchallenged and strained by the paucity of authentic
experience avaliable to them in society, they long to confront the
wildness of their environment, in which they can finally feel themselves
and the self-will of nature.
In their stories we move through worlds of dream and reality. Their
desires pull them in different directions as they attempt to come to grips
with life as a balancing act between personal freedom and the need to
feel safe, beween individuality and family, between wilderness and
civilization. Flickers´ Rhode Island Filmfestival //11.8.2017
