The separation of work and rest periods in our society is vanishing more and more. It is about efficient schedules. The world of food has adapted this pattern: There are canteens, snacks, lunch offers - on every street corner there is something against hunger. The only reason to eat is to stay energetic for our working life, to keep on working fast. It is a permanent cycle of gathering and spending energy! "Pause" is using clear, observing images, looking on the dishes and in the faces of society. It is showing breaks whom the working people should spend as recreation-time, but don’t. The construction worker who eats his sandwich on his excavator, could accelerate at any moment. The business man is spending his lunch time with an important meeting. Today, breaks are no longer real breaks from work. Which picture do we get of somebody in his recreation? Is there a possibility to breathe deeply? How efficient is this energizing? What is on the plate and what will the stomach carry to the next shift?
